NHS, NJHS, FOR Club, Key Club and Builders Club Unite to celebrate Unity Day
In celebration of Unity Day, students and staff at Frankfort-Schuyler High School and Middle School were asked to wear Orange on October 24 to show their unity and commitment to eliminating bullying in their schools.
Small orange cards with positive messages on them were also randomly distributed to 1st period classes. The students were encouraged to anonymously pass the notes on to others throughout the day. Clubs and organizations including National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, Friends of Rachel Club, Key Club and Builders Club created a “Wall of Orange” outside the cafeteria with positive messages for students to read. Students also made posters to remind their friends and classmates of the Unity Day mission -- "Together against bullying. United for kindness, acceptance and inclusion." Several teachers also spent time during their classes discussing bullying and what Unity Day represents.
