Data Privacy & Security

The Frankfort-Schuyler Central School District will protect confidential student information and will not improperly collect, use or disclose student information in violation of any applicable law or regulation governing student policy. The policy ensures compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and the No Child Left Behind Act. Among other items, the policy allows parents the opportunity to opt their child out of participation in any survey that reveals information on certain types of personal behavior or political beliefs. The policy also allows parents the opportunity of excluding their child from any activities in which personal information will be gathered from students and used for marketing purposes. Parents and students over 18 years of age have the right to inspect and review their child’s educational records; or to request the amendment of records believed to be inaccurate or misleading. Parents also have the right to request that the District not release their child’s information to military recruiters without their prior written consent.
