Students Invited to Explore Programs at CTE Open House

Students from the Frankfort-Schuyler Central School District are invited to the Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES Career and Technical Education Open House on Thursday, March 12 from 6-8 p.m. at the William E. Busacker Complex, located at 352 Gros Blvd. in Herkimer.

Attendees can tour classrooms, meet teachers, view demonstrations and visit community organization booths.

Herkimer BOCES offers 14 CTE programs, including Advanced Manufacturing, Automotive Technology, Building Construction, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice, Culinary and Hospitality, Health Science Careers, Network Administration, Visual Communications and Media Arts and Welding and Metal Fabrication.

CTE programs are open to high school juniors and seniors from Frankfort-Schuyler and other component districts. Ninth and 10th grade students may enroll in VP-TECH, which focuses on technology and project-based learning, or READiTEC, a pre-vocational program that introduces students to all 14 CTE programs before they choose one for upper grades.
