Kaleidoscope Art Show, Concert Highlight Student Talent

Students from Frankfort-Schuyler displayed their artistic and musical talents during the Kaleidoscope Art Show and Concert on Feb. 12.

Artwork from elementary and secondary students, including collages, paintings, drawings and sculptures, were on display. Families and community members praised the creativity and skill evident in the pieces. Art teachers Leigh Chapman, Nancie Cooney and Melissa Rocco were recognized for their guidance.

The concert featured performances from student musicians. The youth choir performed “The Bare Necessities” and “You Can’t Stop the Beat.” The high school jazz band played “Centerpiece,” highlighting soloists Kendall Mills, John Drapalski and Nate Phillips, followed by “Chameleon” with solos by Nate Phillips and BreAnne Dye. They also performed “Work Song.”

The middle school jazz band performed “Jumpin’ Jellybeans,” “Quarterback Sneak,” “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and “Crazy Train.” The show choir closed the evening with “You Can’t Stop the Beat,” “Time After Time,” “Dance the Night” and a “fun. Medley,” featuring soloists Dexter Smith, Audrey McMurray, Adrianna Bellino and Olivia Dodge.

The event was made possible with support from the Frankfort-Schuyler Board of Education, administration, maintenance department, Music Boosters, faculty, staff and families.
