On Oct. 21, Frankfort-Schuyler Central School District students and staff celebrated Unity Day with classroom activities that promoted kindness, acceptance and inclusion as part of National Bullying Prevention Month.

Students participated in exercises designed to show the lasting impact of unkind words, including a heart-themed activity where students colored paper hearts, crumpled them and reflected on how hurtful words can leave permanent marks. Another challenge required students to arrange themselves in numerical order without speaking, encouraging teamwork and nonverbal communication.

Throughout the day, students also completed random acts of kindness and signed anti-bullying pledges to reinforce their commitment to a safe and respectful school environment.

Unity Day is a national initiative that encourages schools to visibly show support for bullying prevention and inclusive practices.
