F-S Jr./Sr. HS Welcomes New Assistant Principal/SEL Coordinator
The Frankfort-Schuyler Central School District is pleased to welcome Kristofer Kirkpatrick as the new Assistant Principal and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Coordinator at the Frankfort-Schuyler Jr./Sr. High School, effective December 1.
Kirkpatrick joins the District with an extensive background in supporting students’ academic, social and emotional growth. A graduate of The College of Saint Rose, he most recently served as a K-12 school psychologist in the Dolgeville Central School District for the past five years. During his time there, he played a key role in creating a GSA for students in grades 7-12, helped implement a new MTSS and reading program at the elementary level, coached girls soccer and advised several student clubs. His work reflects his belief that offering diverse opportunities helps students build essential skills for life beyond the classroom.
Kirkpatrick said it is an honor to join the Frankfort-Schuyler school community, and he looks forward to partnering with school staff in his efforts to support the academic, social and emotional growth of Frankfort-Schuyler students. He’s committed to supporting staff in any way that he can, whether it’s providing resources, helping to problem solve or simply being available to listen.
“As a former school psychologist, my passion lies in creating safe, inclusive and student-centered environments where every child feels valued and empowered to succeed,” Kirkpatrick said. “In my role, I will be working closely with teachers, families and support staff to strengthen our SEL practices, enhance communication and ensure that each student has the tools they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.”
When discussing his passion for working in education and supporting students, Kirkpatrick shared the following quote by educator Rita Pierson: “Every child deserves a champion – an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists they become the best they can possibly be.” Kirkpatrick said it reminds him that every child, no matter their background or challenges, needs at least one adult who believes in them unconditionally, and it reinforces his commitment to never giving up on students.
“In my role, I see how powerful it is when a child realizes someone is in their corner, advocating for them, pushing them and celebrating them,” Kirkpatrick said. “It encourages me to show up every day with patience, empathy and determination, knowing these qualities can change a child’s life.”
The Frankfort-Schuyler CSD welcomes Kirkpatrick to his new role and looks forward to the positive impact he will have on students, staff and the Frankfort-Schuyler school community.
