• Students, teachers and staff in the Frankfort-Schuyler Central School District celebrated the last day of the District’s “Connection Calendar” on April 13 with High-Five Friday/Maroon and White Day.

Students from the Jr./Sr. High School had planned the day as part of their 17-day Connection Calendar, intended to make their school and district a more connected and supportive environment. After seeing the success of the first 16 days of the Connection Calendar, teachers, administrators and staff decided to give back a little bit of the positive energy that their students had been sharing throughout the last several weeks. In the days leading up to the final “Connection Calendar” event, the adults secretly planned to gather at each school building’s main entrance and greet every student with a high five as they entered school for the day.

When April 13 finally arrived, students came to school wearing their school colors, but expecting their Friday to start just like any other. Upon seeing the surprise gathering at the front doors, students’ confusion quickly turned to excitement as they each received a red carpet-style welcome full of cheers and high fives to start their day.
