Program Description (class Google Site under "Resources")

Our class is a 12:1:1 Life Skills Special education program. The students are ungraded and participate in the New York State Alternate Assessment (NYSAA). Upon completion of the program, the students will receive the Skills and Achievement Commencement Credential.
Our program incorporates functional core academics in a Life Skills curriculum; focusing on daily living, social, self-advocacy, and pre-vocational skills. Students learn through doing.

Part of our Vocational curriculum includes:
    • Selling hot beverages throughout the school with our Coffee Cart business
    • Selling popcorn to students once a week during lunch period
    • Delivering mail
    • Basic cleaning and maintenance
    • Baking and cooking
    • Library tasks

Instead of receiving grades, the students work on their yearly goals within the classroom/school setting.
