September 2019

Dear Parents:

My name is Frank Moracco and I will be your child’s teacher this school year.  A Frankfort native, I moved to California for college and graduated from Pepperdine University with a B.A. in Liberal Studies.  I also hold a M.S. in Literacy from The University of New England and another M.S. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Grand Canyon University.  This year will begin my fourteenth year teaching for the district having taught at both the first and third grade levels.  I am looking forward to a productive and exciting year working with you and your child.  All children learn in different ways and at different paces.  Being cognizant of this, I like to promote learning in my classroom in a variety of different ways.  I believe very strongly in cooperative learning, and so my classroom is set up to encourage that type of learning.

A few housekeeping items…

·        If you are sending a lunch from home, please label the bag/lunch pail.

·        If your child is buying lunch, please put the money in a sealed envelope with your child’s name marked on it.

·        Feel free to send in a light and healthy snack daily with your child.  Utensils will not be provided so please plan accordingly.

·        I encourage you to send a water bottle with your child.  Keeping hydrated throughout the day will keep your child healthy and more attentive.

·        Birthdays will be celebrated in the classroom.  Please contact me in advance so that we can find a day and time that works best to celebrate.  Treats should be store-bought and should not contain any peanuts.  If you choose to send birthday invitations for an out-of-school party, please send enough for all students as we do not want any hurt feelings.

If possible, please try to send in one kind of treat and drinks.

·        For safety reasons, students will need to be wearing sneakers in order to play on the playground.  If your child would like to keep an old pair of sneakers at school, that would be fine.

If you have any questions regarding our classroom policies, please send me an email at or call me at 315-895-7491 from 2:30-3:25pm daily.  Thanks!
