Parent/Teacher RelationshipParent teachers relationship is necessary for maximum school success. Throughout the year, we will communicate with you as much as possible through weekly news letters. Each student will have a “Take Home Folder” that will go home daily. This folder will be used to send notes, homework, completed school work, and important information between home and school. Please check folders each night and return it each day.Place any money in a sealed envelope with your child’s name on it inside the folder and label what the money is for. EX: lunch money, book order money, book fair money etc..School Security
Please go to main office when picking up your child early for an illness, appointment, etc. Please do not come to the classroom first, you must sign your child out.School AttendanceYour child’s regular and punctual attendance at school is key to his/her success. I cannot emphasize this point enough! Most kindergarten learning experiences are group oriented and involve interaction with classmates. Therefore, this makes it difficult to make up much of the work at home. Please view school as a priority, and see to it that your child attends school everyday except in cases of illnesses or emergencies. If your child is going to be absent, please call Frankfort-Schuyler Elementary at 895-7491.Changes in TransportationIf you plan to pick up your child that normally rides the bus or if there is a change in after school plans you must send in a written note. Please do not rely on your child to tell me this information, because children often become confused and relay messages incorrectly. If no written note is received, your child will be sent home by his/her usual method of transportation.Snack
Each morning we will take a short “snack break”, therefore you will need to send a snack with your child everyday. Some examples of popular, nutritious snacks include crackers, pretzels, dried cereal, yogurt, or cheese, also a drink, such as fruit juice or water. Please send in all necessary condiments, including forks, spoons, napkins, etc.Birthdays
Please send in a note a few days prior to your child's birthday. One flavor of food and drink works best. All items must be store bought. Along with the treat, please send in any paper products needed for the classroom party. Treats may be dropped off to the main office in the morning of the celebration. Summer birthdays may also be celebrated throughout the school year.
Students will not be allowed to pass out birthday party invitations unless, everyone in the class is invited (ex. entire class, all of the girls or all of the boys). Please understand that we do not want any child to feel left out and their feelings hurt.
