I am pleased to say that this will be my 35 year teaching in Frankfort-Schuyler. I have taught in both the resource setting and also in the 12:1:1 setting in 7-12th grade with the majority of my time spent at the 11th and 12th grade level. My goal is to provide Resource support services and Indirect Consultant Teacher services to grade 11 and 12 CSE students to assist them in obtaining their high school diploma.
I will also provide Transition Support Services to students and parents in order to access any and all available adult support services after graduation. This year I will be the liason between grade 11 and 12 students and the State Education Department of Adult Career and Continuing Education Services. (ACCES-VR). The goal is to provide services to CSE students after graduation to assist them in securing full time employment.
I do try my best to be an active member of our school and community and have been involved in various events such as being Co-Captain of our school's Relay for Life Team for The American Cancer Society for the past few years and I am the Advisor for the Frankfort-Schuyler Yearbook. This year will present us with some unique challenges but if we work together we can find a way for every student to be successful. I welcome questions and suggestions from both parents and students and look forward to another great school year.
As we begin this school year through a virtual platform, I will be available to all my resource students as well as their parents to answer any questions or offer assistance. You can reach me by email or telephone (I have provided you with a number where I can be reached). I am also included in all my students' general education google classroom accounts so I can stay informed of your assignments and assessments and work with your classroom teachers to modify as necessary.
