Youth Summit Group Presents Plan to Increase Student Involvement
A group of Frankfort-Schuyler High School students presented their School Action Plan to increase student involvement during the Frankfort-Schuyler Board of Education meeting on February 28.
The group previously participated in the Youth Summit held at Herkimer BOCES in October. The summit provided a venue for local high school students to discuss their concerns and brainstorm solutions.
Since the summit, the group of students from Frankfort-Schuyler have continued to meet to discuss ways to increase student involvement in activities at their school. Some of the students’ ideas include assigning class advisors starting freshman year, expanding class fundraising, teaching all students the alma mater, and installing a marquee board to announce student events and achievements. The students hope to begin implementing the changes in the fall, once they receive approval from the Board of Education.
The group included students Trinity Critelli, Karissa Cuda, Kyle Ferguson, Noah Lape, Isabella Perri, Megan Raab, Jessica Shikula and Amber Sutton.
