The New York State Education Department requires all districts to have a Comprehensive District Education Plan(or CDEP). The overall purpose of the plan is to help guide the district through the process of increasing student achievement. The plan is specifically designed to help us identify where we are now as a district;where we want to be as a district: encourage the district focus upon the New York State Learning Standards; and facilitate the efficient and productive use of school district resources in helping our students, faculty and community in meeting these standards. The district has a CDEP Committee which consists of k-12 faculty members, administrators, parents and community representatives. The CDEP Committee has begun the task of revising the district Mission Statement. A Mission Statement is a brief statement that identifies the specific purpose that the district is trying to meet. The proposed Frankfort-Schuyler Central School Mission Statement, as developed by the CDEP Committee ,is as follows: "Our purpose is to provide a positive learning environment in which students will have the opportunity to experience success and become life-long learners".
Your comments regarding the proposed mission statement are encouraged and welcomed. Please feel free to contact Superintendent of Schools Robert F. Reina, at rreina@frankfort-schuyler.org, with your comments. |
