Recognition for students who are "doing the right thing"...Students will be asked to sign the Principal's Doorway of Knowledge when they have done something that has been recognized by staff as earning the privilege to be recognized. What will be recognized... extra effort, kindness toward others, helping out a staff member or peer, saying something positive and helpful, getting a good grade, reading for the first time, growth in writing skills, having an "aha" moment, and more. Character Education traits: September: Respect October: Self-Control November: Acceptance December: Generosity January: Cooperation February: Friendship March: Honesty & Courage April: Responsibility May: Compassion June: Citizenship Students will be recognized for exhibiting this behavior and will receive a certificate indicating they were "caught" being a good role model.
